Yesterday I arrived back in the ole stompin ground of Florida. I'm here to visit my brother, his fiancee, and my dad who came down for a week. I spent seven years of my life in Florida getting by B.S. and M.S. and haven't been back here for two and a half years. In fact, it is the first time I have been east of Denver in two and half years. Right when I stepped off the plane and smelled the Florida air, hordes of memories came rushing back. I just can't get over how different this place is than Utah... Flat, moist, warm, completely different vegetation, diversity, and so forth.
It's great to be back, but I totally miss Utah. I miss the mountains, I miss snow, I miss my friends so much! Maybe it has to do with the fact that since I've left the ski areas have gotten a ton of snow and my Snowbird pass is sitting in my apartment unused! Oh well, it's basically paid for itself already anyway. Even though I'm a bit homesick it's great to see my family and look forward to the week ahead. I'm sure once I'm back at work a week from now numerically simulating things I'll be missing my vacation.
